About DHI

Incorporated in 1979, Deburring House began doing business in a small 500 square foot facility in Berlin, Connecticut. The small, 2-3 man, “mom & pop” shop grew quickly, as word of a quality deburring service spread amongst the local manufacturing community. By 1985, a small addition was in the works and the shop averaged about 8 employees. The late 80’s was tough for the aircraft parts manufacturing business and the economy. In late 1993, the owner decided it was time to retire, and ownership was transferred to 3 employees. Still a small business with only 5 employees, a renewed commitment to quality and service led the charge forward for the growth of the new organization. The economy had improved, and the “Hi-Tech” industries were realizing a manufacturing boom in production of medical instruments.

Within a couple of years, the Berlin facility was outgrown and a search for a new home began. In 1996, DHI moved into its current, 12,000 sq. ft. facility, in East Berlin, Connecticut. The demand for deburring services from local job shops continued to grow in the region, as outsourcing became the trend in the local aircraft engine industry. This demand fueled the growth of DHI to over 60 employees by 2008.

Today, DHI is the industry leader in providing high quality deburring services of all types. DHI specializes in hand deburring of precision machined parts, not easily deburred by automated methods. DHI most frequently serves the southern New England region but has performed operations for customers throughout the United States, as well as in other countries.
